Of course you don't have to be a web guru to come up with new website ideas and ways of working. While many are trying to emulate the success of Facebook and Twitter it is perhaps easiest to ask yourself what your key skills or core competences are and then how they can be brought together to improve an existing web service or to create a new one.
In that respect, new web ideas come from people that are focused not on following what has gone before but what their own skills and competences produce. Make a list of your individual or company skills and competencies and then start to blend them with either new website ideas, ways of working or even existing technologies.
When you're ready to take your web idea to the next level get a competent website consultant on board (after getting an NDA signed of course) and take it from there. Perhaps today can be the day to turn a dream into a reality?
