Do you follow up failed orders? This simple approach may well be worth adopting as it can significantly increase the conversion rate of your online shop.
Many people are happy to add items to their shopping basket and you will be surprised at the number that actually proceed to post their details on your checkout form but then - for a whole variety of reasons - decline to continue. Perhaps they haven't got their credit card to hand, perhaps they have forgotten their PayPal password, or just ran out of time!
Gaining access to these "failed baskets" allows you - either manually or automatically - to follow up on orders and see if there is anything you can do for the customer. A timely phone call or email not only shows great customer care but also provides an opportunity to potentially help with other queries or problems that the customer might have.
