We've had a number of customers contact us over the past month concerned about the security of their domain name. The content of the email is similar and many come from HongKong Net Center; all warn that the property of the domain name is to be transferred to a client of theirs unless you respond.
Of course the first thing to realise is that this is a just another form of illegal unsolicited spam so do not reply, otherwise you'll be tagged as a "live contact" and will open the floodgates to other spam messages.
If you want to check the validity of your domain name registration then you can visit www.who.is (there are others) and type in your domain name. Check the "Registered until" date to make sure you haven't missed any renewal from your registrar.
It is not permitted for the domain to change ownership without your express permission (and to otherwise is illegal and can result in some pretty heavy penalties).
Relax, the law and the system is on your side.
