Online Innovation Driving Sales: A Tesco Case Study

Tesco have a presence in South Korea where they are called Home Plus. As the video below shows Tesco met the challenge of moving from number 2 in the online sales market to number one using a very innovative approach and the latest, but now common, technology.

In identifying the needs and problems that their target market had - in this case lack of time to travel to the store - and providing a solution to that problem - taking the store to the customer - the company was able to increase its sales.

Furthermore, through the use of technology, ideas that may not have worked or have been practicable a few years ago are now waiting to be exploited. A perfect example of how technology is a facilitating medium that allows businesses to move in directions often not considered by their competitors.

Whether it's making use of QR codes as Tesco did or adopting some other strategy that levers the power of technology then EI are here to help.
