The Folly of Web TV

After we detailed a few days ago how we're not getting any more than 57% of our broadband speed on average, it seems that providers are still very much committed to putting more services down it. Of note is the desire from the BBC Trust to take control of web TV ... that's the bit that's going to deliver broadband TV to your home in the not too distant future.

Already web players like the BBCs iPlayer and ITV Player (there are lots of others) make access to previously broadcast material easier and it seems that may providers are unhappy that the potential money making possibilities of this in a more formal hardware set-top box might be curtailed by the control from the BBC.
